How to post 3D photo on Facebook
3D Photo is a new feature on Facebook designed to make photos more immersive
in your news feed. It captures the distance between the subject in the
foreground and the background of a photo to bring scenes to life with depth
and movement. To capture photos, you need a dual lens camera, especially an
iPhone with Portrait mode. When you take a photo on Facebook, the social
network uses AI to create the image. Above, video shows steps for activating
the 3D photo feature on your iPhone. Your 3D photos will be visible to all
Facebook users, not just those with specific devices. Photos can also be
viewed in virtual reality with Oculus Browser on Oculus Go or Firefox on
Oculus Rift.
To capture a 3D photo, you need an iPhone with two cameras (iPhone 7 Plus,
iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS or XS Max). Other flagship phones also
feature two cameras, including Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note
9 and the LG V35 ThinQ. But according to sources of information, Facebook said
that support is not yet available for these devices. After taking the picture,
follow the steps in the video above to enable the 3D Photo feature on your
iPhone. This feature should be widely available on other devices by the end of
2018.
